Artist’s Statement: No matter what the weather, farmers from all over drive to city streets, under freeways, and to parking lots, setting up farmers’ markets for eager customers. The open spaces, free of traffic, decorated with colorful awnings invite shoppers to buy fresh vegetables and fruit. There is music, places to eat food from vendors, local restaurants, and places to sit and enjoy friends, family, and neighbors. I hope the viewer sees how special the farmers’ markets are to me. I hope that they will walk in and become a part of the story.
