Artist Statement: Brandon Smith is an oil painter, and faculty at the Academy of Art University. The paintings are of scenes of daily life in the East Bay. The “Peet’s Coffee” painting was based on a customer and child at the Peet’s Coffee on Lakeshore Avenue in Oakland.
