Artist's Statement: I have come to realize that Oakland is a dynamic organism constantly changing. Masonry, concrete, glass and steel, as solid as they all seem, rise and are demolished. Some like the First Unitarian Church at the end of this pedestrian bridge, are lovingly refurbished maintaining the architectural memory of the city.
