Artist’s Statement: These prints are made from polymer etching plates that are sensitive to ultraviolet light. I use a light box to develop my photographs of water on metal plates. The prints are an exploration of the varied qualities of water. They range on a continuum from representational to impressionistic to abstract. Many of these images are inspired by the Pacific Ocean at Point Reyes National Sea Shore, Drakes Bay, and Tomales Bay. The prints represent a moment as the mist is about to clear, the light about to intensify, or shadows about to deepen.
