Artist's Statement: The cartoon medium is readily understood and accepted by youth. It can be used to comfort those who are experiencing turmoil and transitions in their lives. Many of the young men detained in this facility are searching for empowerment and a male support system. In Lil’ Mo’ Education I focused on a story of how a young man finds freedom through a book and through the support of his friends.
