Artist Statement: I grew up in San Leandro, in a family of Japanese American nurserymen, surrounded by the plants, flowers and objects that now inhabit my artwork. The “Nursery Series” is a visual narrative of the now gone nursery and home. These etchings preserve not only my personal memories but also the collective memory of a place, time and family.
