Artist’s Statement: Using chalk pastel, I examine each landscape with great concentration, finding nuances of color and shape that help me to decode some of the magic of nature that appeals to our souls. This series celebrates the vibrant natural scenery that surrounds us, affording the passerby an actual expansion and transformational experience that can lift them from their current state of mind. I hope to inspire the viewer to embark on an imaginary journey soaring high above in a dramatic cloud-story or wandering along a quiet and serene dirt trail, all the while gaining perspective on their lives and providing a sense of renewal.
