Artist’s Statement: Float #2 is part of a series of paintings in which I transform paper from its flat form, creating texture and color gradations with gouache and water washes. The imagery is from drawings of shadows cast by my wire sculptures. Using pins to add dimensionality and movement, I arrange individually painted squares in a collection. This piece reflects my interest in combining both two-and three-dimensional elements in my work.
