Artist’s Statement: It is not possible for me to pass by a play area where there are swings without remembering. We had swings in Philadelphia with heavy metal poles. We could soar to heights unknown, forward and backward in the summer air. I taught children and grandchildren how to ride both sitting and standing. Sometimes we rode two on a swing!
