Artist’s Statement: While the artwork is rather abstract, they touch upon forms inspired by both nature and urban life. The focus of the imagery brings forth the feelings of new growth and transformation. The use of wood, burned by molten glass and sealed with beeswax, provides a deep, primal, intrinsic connection only found in the use of natural materials and processes. While this connection is usually subconscious to the viewer, it is what touches and binds a universal audience together.
