Artist Statement: Among the Papyri reflects my deep fascination with Egyptian civilization. This work, a Nile River scene with wild papyri wetlands and the egrets that inhabit it, is utterly beautiful, especially the panel on the right with bird piled upon bird with a wild thrust of life. We see in this work the viewpoint of the egrets in the papyri. We bear witness to this scene and its separate reality.
