One of several small paintings completed whilst working on location in the Scottish Borders early 2022. The inspiration for this particular piece was witnessing the devastation severe storms can cause to the land. I had been staying in the Duns area and most of the woodlands around there were torn apart by strong winds. In places it almost seemed like some trees grouped together to protect each other.
