"The Little Betrayer" mixes one of China's Four Great Folktales "The Legend of the White Snake" and Hans Christian Anderson's fairytale "The Little Mermaid". However, rather than being the villain who has betrayed others as perhaps suggested by the title, these tragic characters have instead, betrayed themselves in tales of forbidden love. Once again, we see themes of identity synonymous with Ghost Mountain Field's artistic practice. The painting reads: "You Are Who You Are: If you can ever betray your own identity, how can you expect others to trust you would not F them over?"
