I chose the story of Guru (Keith Edward Elam) from the hiphop group Gangstar because of the impact he had on his listeners and how he turned his identity into rap and made music. I can relate to Gurus story through his determination to define his own identity and focus on authenticity in his music. His commitment to delivering conscious, socially aware lyrics and maintaining artistic integrity resonates with me. The idea of using art to express oneself and connect with others, especially when facing challenges, is something I find inspiring. His journey shows the power of staying true to oneself. Guru kept the focus of his music on his own life experiences rather than bragging about himself. Throughout his career, he aimed to deliver conscious, socially aware lyrics and maintain the integrity of the art form, his album Moment of Truth is one of the peaks of his career. He showed resilience and urged his audience to stay true to themselves while dealing with hardship
