“Broken Pieces” was captured by photographing a reflection of the water while focusing the lens focus on the water itself, leaving the reflection out of focus. The name “Broken Pieces” came to mind when I noticed how the highlights in the sky, framed by the leaves, resembled a broken mirror reflecting a white void. In the left center of the photo, there is a void that gives the impression of a missing piece of the mirror (water), almost as if there are teeth hidden beneath it. The ominous feeling stems from the question: what's in the void?
