Artist: Brendan Driscoll
Brendan Driscoll is a biracial photographer based in Boston, where he has lived his entire life. His passion for photography began in eighth grade when he would arrange random objects with intricate lighting setups and use his phone camera to capture artistic photos. After working at Artists For Humanity and acquiring his first DSLR camera, his skills have significantly improved over the years. Brendan’s work tends to lean toward a grittier style, reflecting his unique perspective and evolving technique.
The style I gravitate toward as a photographer leans towards a grittier feel. I absolutely love an ominous atmosphere in my images that keeps a viewer guessing. Currently, I enjoy using vintage portrait lenses for their unique bokeh, soft look, imperfections, and affordability. The lenses are completely manual, which has helped me build my skills and confidence in operating a camera fully manually. I love taking walks and traveling, capturing those experiences through my lens. Most of my inspiration comes from the cinematography of films by my favorite directors and cinematographers.
