Rashad Nelson was born in 1991 in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Roslindale with his grandparents, who nurtured his artistic development. Inspired by his grandfather’s collection, Rashad began building model cars at an early age. The minute details, from the chrome handles to the treads in the tires, fixated him. He translated his concepts of cars into sketches with pencil and paper.
In recent years, Rashad’s work has been exhibited at many streetwear boutiques including Bodega, BAU/Business as Usual, and Jiberish.
During my teenage years, my interest in art drew me towards the emerging graffiti and street art world. I moved around the city at night, writing my tag name on walls, street signs, and utility poles. Around this time I was introduced to Artists for Humanity, where I began to learn painting and refine my artistic technique. My experience in “graffiti bombing” plays heavily in my abstract style. I continue to my original artistic outlet of sketching. My love for the arts extends to music and fashion.
