Before working at Artists For Humanity (AFH), Jack had zero experience when it came to knowing how to use a camera. He couldn’t even hold a camera correctly if someone asked him to. However, regardless of his preexisting skills, AFH has opened their arms for Jack to flourish in the field of photography. From getting the chance to learn from other incredible minds of the mentors to having a workspace that encourages creativity, he truly has found a passion for something he would never have expected.

Making art matters to me for many reasons. For one, it has allowed me to explore my creativity and widen my perspective about the world we live in. Capturing photos through my lenses and seeing things from a different point of view has made me understand that life can’t be taken for granted. If there is one life lesson that photography has taught me, it is that a picture is worth more than a thousand words. Meaning that my impact on the world and on others can be simply made through an image. That to me is the most powerful thing about art - the ability to move others without saying any words.
