From a very young age Asia knew she would grow up to be an artist. Growing up with her mother who painted and her father who was a graffiti artist, the passion for art came naturally. Asia grew up in Boston and comes from a Cape Verdean background, her culture has impacted many phases of her art experience. In the fourth grade Asia’s first biggest passion in art was to become a comic book artist. After reading the comic “Ghosts” she was inspired to draw cartoons when she got older and practiced everyday. As Asia got older she started digital art and stuck with it for six years until she started to get out of her comfort zone and pursue painting and sketching. As she grew deeper into exploring other mediums she started to study more about painting techniques and the different aesthetics of art, Asia heard about AFH through her older sister and instantly got hooked on painting more consistently.
I am very inspired by nature and realistic paintings during the Renaissance era so I use a lot of ideas taken from similar work when I paint. Recently I have gotten very comfortable with painting flowers and this started from my love for nature and how diverse flowers are. What motivates me to work is my mentor and my passion to keep evolving in my artistic ability.
