Cup plate, 5.5 inches diameter (14cm). Brown transfer. Printed maker's mark for Whittaker & Co. The inclusion of "England" dates this pattern to after 1890. This pattern features a central quatrefoil cartouche which contains a scene with sailboats on the water and a village along the shoreline in the background. The cartouche is superimposed over a bramble of wild roses.

The original partners were Lewis Whittaker, James Edge, Samuel Heath, John Henry Weatherby, and Robert Rowley. Whittaker, Edge & Co.: 1882-1886. Whittaker & Co.: 1886-1892.
