Plate, brown transfer. The printed maker's mark consists of a garter with the initials J. H. & S. It's possible this stands for the firm Jones, Hopkinson & Sherwin of the Renalagh Works in Hanley. They were in operation c. 1885-1891. This pattern consists of two arching sprays of wildflowers and grasses opposite each other on the edge of the plate. The larger spray features bellflowers and wheat.
