Vase, 5.5 inches tall. Red transfer. Unknown maker. This simple pattern consists of a curving stem of lilies and leaves. The opposite side of the vase features two sprigs of a flower that looks like chrysanthemum. A thin border on the inside rim consists of a chain of flowers, leaves, and berries.
The maker might possibly be the firm Jones, Hopkinson & Sherwin of the Renalagh Works in Hanley, Staffordshire, England. They were in operation c. 1885-1891. The partners were William and Thomas Jones, Frederick Ambrose Hopkinson and David Sherwin. F. A. Hopkinson retired in August 1887. The business continued with the name Jones, Hopkinson & Sherwin. The partnership was dissolved in August 1891 and David Sherwin continued in his own account.
