Pitcher, 11 inches tall (28cm). Brown transfer. Printed maker's mark for Forester & Hulme. The Rd. number dates the registration of this pattern to 1889, but the inclusion of "England" and the pottery firm's operation dates make the production of this pattern to 1891-1892. The raised lozenge with the shape registration date is completely indecipherable. This pattern features a trellis with large lilies and other flowers wrapped completely around the body of the pitcher. The handle features the same trellis with a slender, undulating vine with leaves. The border consists of the same trellis with the same vining flowers.

Thomas Forester started earthenware manufacture at the works in 1884 and continued until 1887/78. Forester then took Joseph Booth Hulme into partnership c. 1887 and they operated as Forester and Hulme. This partnership continued until December 1892 when Thomas Forester left the business. Hulme then entered into partnership with John James Christie - operating as Hulme & Christie.
