This pattern features a delicate floral motif of trumpet flowers and bleeding hearts bordered by a looping ribbon decorated with simple circles. The border around the rim of the body consists of simple geometric shapes and stylized leaves repeated.
Joseph Edge Jr. and Benjamin Cork had previously been in business together at the Queen Street Works as Cork & Edge. In 1860 James Malkin joined the business, which then operated as Cork, Edge & Malkin. At the same time as operating at the Queen Street Works they operated the New Wharf Potteries and then around 1868 at the Newport Pottery. In 1871 Benjamin Cork left the business, which was continued by Joseph Edge and James Malkin.
