Octagonal plate, 7 inches diameter. Green transfer. Printed maker's mark for Dunn, Bennett & Co. "Brooklyn" features a stylized flower sheet motif in the well with a border of four different panel motifs filled with geometric backgrounds overlaid with stylized flowers and half-cartouches filled with stylized flowers.
Dunn, Bennett & Co. was a manufacturer of earthenware and ironstone at a number of sites, originally in Hanley and then, from 1886, in Burslem, Staffordshire. Established in 1876 by William Dunn and his son-in-law William Wood-Bennett. Dunn, Bennett & Co manufactured earthenware and ironstone for both the home and American markets. Around 1908 it was incorporated as a limited company.
