Lidded dish, 9.5 x 3.625 x 3.25 inches. Black transfer with polychrome clobbering and luster glaze. Unknown maker. A painted pattern number of "7924T" appears on the base. This lidded dish was originally part of a toilet service, which was a set of objects used at the dressing table. The pattern is the same on both the body and lid and consists of a band filled with groups of stylized ivy leaves alternating with crisscrossed ribbons. This motif is contained within a simple line border and framed on top and bottom with a geometric line of alternating diamond shapes and solid circles in groups of three.
