Adrien Saporiti is Portland, OR based painter, muralist and conceptual artist, originally from Nashville, TN.
Self-taught in street art and graphic design, his work is a meeting and an evolution of these two worlds.
Adrien primarily works in latex, spray paint, and acrylic, incorporating minimal, but high impact, color palettes and gradients in his work.
Stylistically he is mostly an abstract painter, with forays into figure painting and conceptual three dimensional works.
Language and communication are longstanding themes in his work, stemming from growing up mixed race with an immigrant parent in the American South.
Adrien’s recent work utilizes and manipulates his handwriting to create elements and subjects for his paintings. While these handwriting based pieces may not be legible, it’s the artist belief that the communication of the work comes from creating a connection moreso than expressing a specific view.
With my work I want to create an opportunity to communicate. I am more interested in hearing what people find in my work, even if it is not what I intended or took from it myself.
