Familiar and New: Highlights from the Art Department Permanent Collection
- May 31, 2022
Artworks can transport the viewer to another place, another time, or another state of consciousness. These travels can be both familiar and new- a transformative process that creates significance, which can inspire a narrative in the mind like fragments of lost poems or stories. Curated by ACC Gallery Interns, this exhibition showcases works from the ACC Art Department Permanent Collection. This collection of student artworks displays the diversity of artistic discipline, methodologies, and media taught at Austin Community College.
This exhibition is divided into six themes: Human Form, Near- Human Form, Emotions, Locales, Nostalgia, and Dreams. Each of these sections touches on various elements of design such as: color, line, shape, value, and texture.
