The main design idea of this painting is right in the title. Certain shapes pull my attention. Lately I have been attracted to the type of crescent shapes often seen in rounded form shadows and lights. It is a fun repetitive pattern in both hard clay pots and organic onions. But in the glare light of this window the surface of the windowsill is transformed into a watery mirror. Now the crescents are flipped and on the next level of repetition. Combined with their origins they start to dance and make delightful arabesques!
