This 16" x 20" framed oil painting on canvas by Oklahoma-based artist James Cobb depicts a friend's family farm. Rows of freshly planted groves are accented by Cobb's use of texture via his palette knife, which are further highlighted by the various shades of green and are contrasted by the brown soil lining the rows between. In the background is a white farm house and surrounding structures. The light blue sky above features robust white clouds that appear to be moving leisurely across the sky.

James Cobb has worked out of his studio in Norman, Oklahoma for the last two decades. He attempts to paint from life and hosts a life drawing session every Friday for artists around the state. He paints all subject matter from still life and landscapes to portraiture and figural work.
