This framed 13.5" x 13.5" x 2" oil on linen work by Oklahoma-based artist Marie Kash Weltzheimer portrays three lemons, arranged side by side. They are nestled in a striped blue and yellow-white fabric. Kash Weltzheimer uses deep purples and maroons to convey the ripples of the fabric, and renders the yellow lemons in such a way that they nearly jump from the linen canvas. The artwork is well complemented by the light wooden frame, which is roughly two inches wide. Initially created as a diptych, on its own the composition is strong and well balanced.
Marie Kash Weltzheimer is a representational artist who is most inspired by music and nature. She most often creates still life and portrait works, as well as the occasional landscape.
