This framed 39" x 39" pastel work on paper by Oklahoma-based artist Marie Kash Weltzheimer depicts Hopi Point, a popular viewpoint accessed by traveling to the Grand Canyon's South Rim. The color palette is rich with orange and red hues, which complement the green of the sparse vegetation of the area that is included in the composition. Kash Weltzheimer uses a cool, blue palette to convey a sense of distance the farther out the canyon goes into the horizon. The work is bordered with a black, textured frame.
Marie Kash Weltzheimer is a representational artist who has been working with pastel and oil paint since 1988. Her works are inspired by music, nature, and the beauty of every day life.
