As I painted this sunset, I was inspired by the vastness and splendor of those beautiful clouds as I brushed purple, golden and peach colors onto the canvas. Then as I laid in the reflections of those skies in the lake it was just added bliss! I remember the evening when my son, Trey, and I took the reference photos. We were on our way home and saw this sunset over Lake Glenville (also known as Thorpe Reservoir) in NC. It was magnificent! But then, as I think about it, everything the LORD touches is magnificent! How awesome HE is and I'm so honored to paint them! My painting doesn't compare but I tried to at least convey the "taking my breath away feeling" onto the canvas. I look forward to all my LORD's sunsets because one day I'll see my last one and live forever with HIM. We no longer live there but I have many awesome memories of hikes, and cool evenings spent with my husband, Joe, by the fire on the screened in porch in Sapphire, NC. I am thankful for the opportunity to have lived there! Thank you LORD!
