Artist Trust Fellowship Awards

Artist Trust Fellowship Awards are merit-based awards of $10,000 for practicing professional artists of exceptional talent and ability residing in Washington State. These unrestricted awards are open to artists of all disciplines and are given annually to up to 8 artists in recognition of artistic excellence and dedication to their practice. The awards were first selected in 1987, making it Artist Trust's longest-running award program. Recipients have the opportunity to participate in Artist Trust's Meet the Fellows program, a storytelling initiative aimed at helping recipients share their stories, build new audiences for their work, and honor each recipient as a Fellow. All applications are reviewed by one multidisciplinary panel consisting of five artists from across the state with expertise in a range of artistic disciplines. Panelists prioritize Black and Indigenous artists, artists living in rural areas, and artists who identify as LGBTQIA+ by considering structural, institutional, and historical barriers artists face.

Fellowship recipients from 2018-2025, recipients of two or more Fellowship Awards in a lifetime, previous recipients of the James W. Scottish Emerging Sculptor Award

Edinburgh Park

Following the success of the inaugural award in 2024, Parabola is launching the second Scottish Emerging Sculptor Award. Scottish artists are invited to develop ambitious proposals for a new public sculpture inspired by their own interpretation of Edinburgh Park. Five shortlisted artists will be selected to take part in a mentoring programme led by Matthew Jarratt, Arts Curator for Edinburgh Park, supporting them in developing their ideas into exhibition-ready proposals. The shortlisted proposals will be exhibited in the reception of 1 New Park Square throughout the summer and autumn of 2027, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the designs before casting their vote for their favorite.

photographic call for entry | "animalia"

A Smith Gallery

Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work reflecting the theme "animalia". Entries of 13 or more images are eligible for a complementary review by the gallery directors. The entry fee is $40 for the first 5 images and $5 for each additional image. Up to forty seven images will be selected for exhibition and shown in the online gallery. An exhibition catalogue with all the accepted images will be available for purchase. Also, 27 images from the total 47 images will be selected for “The 27”, a limited edition hardbound fine art book of the exhibition. Both the Juror and Director Award’s will each receive a copy of the limited edition hardbound fine art book as well as an online solo exhibition and GalleryTalk. The Visitors’ Award is $100 and is selected by most Instagram likes. All exhibition images receive exposure on both Instagram and Facebook over the duration of the exhibition.

Juror for "animalia" will be Traer Scott, photographer and author.

Lucid Art Residency Program 2027

The Lucid Art Foundation offers a residency in a retreat-like natural setting in Inverness, California, intended for creative exploration and inquiry into art and consciousness. Residents are provided housing and a dedicated art studio on the Foundation's campus, along with access to the organization's library resources. The Foundation encourages multimedia, conceptual, ecological, and interdisciplinary approaches to art-making. Selected residents may be asked to contribute work to a curated online exhibition of residency artists. The program is juried, with artists selected based on their proposed work and alignment with the Foundation's mission of exploring inner consciousness in harmony with the natural world.

Point Pleasant Publishing was founded in 2014 in Jersey City, New Jersey (currently based in the New Jersey Shore as well as beyond) and is an international contemporary arts publisher specializing in writing critical essays.

​Selected artists are featured with detailed curatorial review essays in the catalogue. Each featured artist has a generous six-page spread dedicated to them. This extensive linen wrap hardcover art book also includes Point Pleasant Journal and Shoreline Voice publications in addition to the catalogue articles and artist features. The writing by Point Pleasant Publishing is 100% human-created content, absolutely no artificial intelligence used. Essays are available on the Point Pleasant website and on Substack. The Artist Feature Catalogue is internationally registered with both an ISBN and ISSN.

Eligibility Criteria:

Point Pleasant Publishing accepts alternative and experimental forms of visual art including photography, performance, moving-image (video / film), installation, fiber / textiles, assemblage, collage, jewelry, light design, printmaking, fashion / costume design, text-based fragments, and analogue digital (no AI). ​

Artists are selected based on a variety of factors including originality, conceptual impact, overall cohesiveness of portfolio, and aesthetic qualities of the art. ​We especially encourage alternative / experimental and underrepresented artists to apply.

Fusion Art announces the RED 2026 Art Competition.

The color RED dominates human emotion as the color of passion, power, and intensity—from blazing anger to tender love. For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography using red as the primary color in their work to convey strong feelings and psychological depth. While red should be the predominant visual element, other colors can be used to enhance its emotional impact and meaning.

You know it, you can’t get away from it, but for this year’s Anything But… exhibition, we’re saying no to plastic! Acrylic paint? Get outta here! Try some homemade egg tempera! Nylon thread? No way! We suggest ethically raising and shearing a herd of sheep and spinning your own wool.*  Modge Podge? Nahhhhh, you gotta get into wheatpaste. 

Riverside wants YOU to show us how you art with materials that are free of thermosetting polymers of high molecular weight that can be made into objects, films, or filaments. Are you up for the challenge?!

* If you can’t grow your own wool, purchased wool is acceptable. (You don’t need to make your materials; you can acquire them however you want, so long as they remain plastic-free.)

Open Call for Visual Artists in Northwest Michigan - Solo Exhibition at Delamar Traverse City

Overview
K/P Cultural and The Delamar Traverse City are thrilled to announce an open call for the Delamar Traverse City Artist Series, a newly launched featured artist program at the Hotel. Regional artists are invited to submit their work to be considered for a solo exhibition in the Delamar’s Main Hallway.  The space hosts visitors from around the world, as well as regional and local guests. 


Details
Two artists will be selected from the open call submissions and invited to show work in a solo exhibition in spring or summer 2027. Exhibitions are on view for approximately 12 weeks. Selected artists are invited to work on site (plein air) before and during the exhibition if desired. An opening reception for each exhibition will be hosted by the Delamar, and the artist's presence is required.

Selection criteria
Artwork will be selected for its technical skill, conceptual strength, and innovation within its medium. Priority will be given to artwork that is relevant to the Delamar’s audiences, offering them a taste of the creative energy and inspiration of the Northwest Michigan region. Submissions will be juried by K/P Cultural and members of the Delamar staff.

McKnight Printmaking Fellowship at Highpoint

Founded on the belief that Minnesota thrives when its artists and culture bearers thrive, the McKnight Foundation’s arts and culture program is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in the country. Support for individual working Minnesota artists and culture bearers has been a cornerstone of the program since it began in 1982. The McKnight Artist & Culture Bearer Fellowships Program provides annual, unrestricted cash awards to outstanding mid-career Minnesota artists in 15 different creative disciplines. Program partner organizations administer the fellowships and structure them to respond to the unique challenges of different disciplines. SIXI AiR Open Call 2027

Sixi Museum, a non-profit art institution in Nanjing combining collection, exhibition, academic research and public education, runs the Sixi International Artist-in-Residence Project to support emerging artists. The program invites interdisciplinary explorations spanning literature, linguistics, music and sound, and visual art, encouraging artists to break traditional boundaries between mediums. Selected residents receive a private studio or apartment, living and studio space, staff support, and financial assistance toward production during a three-month stay.
