Mariam Dwidar is a Cairo-based sculptor and multidisciplinary artist, graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts with a specialisation in sculpture. Her practice is built on curiosity — moving across marble, wood, clay, stone, cement, steel, acrylic, and recycled materials, not with a fixed method but with a genuine interest in what each material is capable of doing on its own terms.
She lets materials surprise her. That openness has carried her across contexts too — from gallery exhibitions to film and television, where she worked on props and prosthetics fabrication, learning the particular logic of industrial and performance materials along the way.
What ties it all together is the same impulse: to pick something up, understand it, and see where it leads.
