Dr Marwa Youssef Wahba is an Egyptian sculptor and academic, currently serving as an assistant professor in the Sculpture Department (Field and Formative Sculpture) at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, Cairo.
Born in Kuwait on November 17, 1976, she earned her bachelor's degree in sculpture in 1999 with distinction with honours, followed by a master's degree in 2006 and a Ph.D. in fine arts in 2011. Her doctoral research focused on the inspiration of geometric forms in contemporary European and American sculpture.
She has held key academic positions, including acting head of the Sculpture Department (2017–2019), and is a member of the Sculptors' Syndicate in Cairo, serving on its board of directors.
Dr Marwa has held several solo exhibitions, including Directions (2017), Intersections (2018), Collection (2019), and Fusion (2023), alongside participation in numerous national and international group exhibitions. She has received the acquisition prize at the 5th International South Salon (2017) and has served on juries for major cultural institutions, including the Farouk Hosny Foundation and the "Ouladna" Forum for artists with special needs.
Her artistic work explores the relationship between organic and geometric forms, movement, balance, and expressive meaning in sculpture. She continues to teach, create, and contribute to Egypt's contemporary art scene.
