Laid out before my studio windows are the mountains of Victoria’s high country. Directly in front of me as I decorate this vessel is the valley of Mansfield, leading up to Merrijig and the foothills of Mt Buller. It is a glorious sight, which changes hourly and never ceases to be my muse. I am repeatedly inspired to capture the moods, either in paint or in clay, using stained slips, underglazes and glaze. The landscape wraps around the porcelain vessel, in a never-ending panorama.
Wheel-thrown porcelain, underglaze decoration with a clear glaze interior. The exterior is polished and protected with Liquid Quartz. Cone 10.
