This series of 10 paintings explores the connection between music and visual art—how music can evoke emotion, mood, and memory and inspire a creative response.
Each one is 140lb. heavy paper, 24 x 18in and was created to a specific genre of music or music artist.
March of 2026 with the intention of discovering if music can trigger memory, and if so, can the emotion of those memories be conveyed visually.
I discovered that each painting formed its own connection to a different kind of music, evoking emotions and memories unique to the work. Through this process, I found myself remembering people who had briefly passed through my life, conversations I wish I had paid more attention to, fleeting moments that once held great importance, and places I have no memory of ever being. The paintings became not only responses to music, but also a way of uncovering and giving visual form to fragments of memory.
