Russian filigree cuff bracelet
In Storms of Juno, the negative space I create with the filigree structure itself is as important as the positive space of the wire like dark matter supporting the structure of the universe. As a young child, I wanted to be an astronaut. At that time astronauts seemed required to be fighter pilots and men, so I never believed that was an option for me. This never diminished my love of astronomy, which continues to inform much of my work.
Storms of Juno was inspired by NASA photos of the storm cloud bands of the planet Jupiter for this cuff’s composition. Like any capricious and volatile deity, Jupiter often eclipses his powerful and long-suffering spouse Juno, whose storms are no less legendary and for whom this bracelet is named.
