Dana Piazza is a visual artist who creates abstract drawings and paintings on paper, panel, and canvas. Piazza’s practice emphasizes and expands upon a single origin mark coupled with a set of self-imposed rules that are the scaffolding for an extraordinarily comprehensive and varied body of work. The meticulous forms that Piazza assembles on his flat surfaces depict the illusion of depth and movement; they seem voluminous, carrying significant visual weight. His systemic inclinations toward non-representational abstraction focus on form, color, the tools of creation, and the artist’s hand.
Dana Piazza lives and works in Lenox, Massachusetts. His work has previously appeared in solo exhibitions at TURLEY in Hudson, New York; Art Austerlitz in Austerlitz, New York; Thompson Giroux Gallery in Chatham, New York; and Jennifer Terzian Gallery in Litchfield, Connecticut. His numerous group exhibitions include Flat Files at OyG at Ortega y Gasset Projects in Brooklyn; Concentrated at Galerie Manqué in Brooklyn; Art on Paper at Muriel Guépin Gallery in New York City; and Guilty Pleasures at Geoffrey Young Gallery in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. His work was recently featured at Brattleboro Museum & Art Center in their exhibition Desire Lines, alongside artists Alex Callender, Nandini Chirimar, Tara Geer, Maggie Nowinski, and James Siena. He also exhibited at Dallas Art Fair 2025 with TURLEY alongside artists Michael Cuadrado, Evan Halter, Liu Kincheloe, and Ruby Palmer. Piazza received a BFA from Purchase College, State University of New York.
