Infusing reused textile into ceramics and tapesteries, Kate Rusek and Allyce Wood incorporate personal and cultural history into highly textured artwork. Wood’s work draws on Scandinavian fiber traditions which have a strong influence in the Pacific Northwest. Rusek’s sculptures reference the landscape’s marine forms. The natural forms and cultural traditions of the Pacific Northwest influence their practices and products.
