In the four years before the COVID pandemic, Sequencing Through Time and Place, an artist collaborative with visual artist Wendy Bredehoft, dancer/choreographer Margaret Wilson and myself, made a number of trips to the South Pass City Historical Site (WY) to make new work at the Carissa Gold Mine. As the first contemporary artists to respond to the mine, our collaboration was one exploring the Carissa from its historical, architectural, and cultural perspectives, resulting in new exhibitions and a publication.
