Mockingbird expands on the concept of mark-making as visual language, proposing instead a step towards visual literature, drawing on and making direct reference to classic literary works - powerful stories that are told, printed, and retold, such as Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird. Urban environments carry equally powerful (but often concealed) lived histories - within the people, the structures, and the streets. Here, this duality is distilled and positioned as a modern, graffiti-esque script, while echoing themes around the human condition, hope, and disillusionment.
