Earthpod VI - Resting Volcano, 2021

"Earthpod VI - Resting Volcano" explores the elements of earth and fire.

The exterior pyrography in this piece is reminiscent of ancient maps with navigation lines for explorers. The opening at the top of the piece suggests a volcano that has perhaps erupted at one time but is now resting.

The gourd still contains its original seeds.

The brass gilding in this piece is an alloy that will age over many years. This effect is intentional to reflect the natural cycles of nature.
