The magic of being out in the landscape is that it allows us a break from the restrictions and stress of our 21st century lives, which are dominated by the 'boxes' we live and work in, and the boxes we stare at for much of the day. Getting outside offers a different perspective, a simple gaze up at the sky offers not just 'space', but a glimpse into infinity!
Science can even prove that when we shift our focus to a panoramic view or look towards the horizon, it has a calming effect on our brain and even our physiology.
My paintings are my way of sharing the sense of perspective that comes from interpreting the landscape around me, and letting it settle the mind.
