Strangely enough, while I was in Florence revisiting the temple of Santa Croce (where they filmed the movie "The Room with a View"), it came to me to paint these two Lilies, in the symbolic colors of Etruscan Culture (brown and cobalt). Only in time did I notice that I attributed to them the names of the 2 Nations, Italy and Germany, the latter where I have lived for over 40 years.
Stranamente, mentre mi trovavo a Firenze a rivisitare il tempio di Santa Croce (dove hanno girato il film "La Camera con Vista"), mi venne da dipingere questi due Gigli, dai colori simbolo della Cultura Etrusca (marrone e cobalto). Solo col tempo ho notato di aver attribuito ad essi i nomi delle 2 Nazioni, Italia e Germania, dove vivo da oltre 40 anni.
