Painting on custom-shaped panel.
This is a key-piece created for my Mortal Magic exhibition.
Painted to resemble a large book, the piece started with a custom -built panel that has prominent wood overlap on the front and back of the structure to resemble the way in which hard-bound book covers can be a bit larger than the interior.
Metallic gold paint was used for the text on the "spine" side of the piece. It was also used as a very subtle drop-shadow effect on the text "Mortal Magic" that appears on the front/main image.
Materials:
Acrylic paint on custom-shaped, wooden panel.
Edges painted to resemble the spine and pages of a book.
Hangs on the wall with a wooden cleat provided.
