Shapes of Earth: Keeping Everything I Found, 2024-2026

These works are made in direct contact with the forest floor. The canvases are placed on the ground and worked in response to what is underneath them. Some are left outdoors for months, either exposed or buried, where weather, debris, and temperature continue to affect the surface. Back in the studio, thin layers of gesso are applied to hold what has occurred and stabilize the piece.
