This painting is an abstraction of a private name spoken to the artist by her daughter during childhood, a name that has come to hold deep personal and spiritual meaning. The painting was created as a way to reconnect with the trance-based word abstraction practice that Kice explored in 2020–2021. The process involved writing “I am” followed by the name, then abstracting language into form. Though the name itself is not shared, the work carries the emotional charge of being named by another, of receiving and responding to the intimate and unseen.
Existential Introduction was created during the same period as similar works like Redemption, Said the Skateboard Kid and the Oracle of Associated Light series, where words and meaning are transformed through color, movement, and intuition.
