From the Honeycombe portfolio, Life: Chair predicts Hill’s deep interest in patterning inherent in the artist’s later works. Hill’s methodology flourishes in her works that allow her to mix, layer and blend sectional areas of imagery. In Life: Chair , the looseness of the verticals and horizontals arise from her joy of lines, with washes and distinct collage-like experience. All are composed and bound by her trust of boundaries and the rhythms within the edges of the paper. The imagery in the print is influenced by Hill’s pregnancy with her second child and feeling connected to life in the world. Hill has been a long-time practitioner and friend to Pyramid over its forty years.
